Meet Trudy B., a Stronger U member who’s achieved impressive results with the help of her Stronger U Coach, Jodi. Trudy and her husband have been happily married for 30 years, living in American Fork, Utah, raising six children, including identical twin boys, and now have six adorable grandchildren. At 50 years old, she embarked on her Stronger U journey. She was hesitant at first, feeling that programs like Stronger U were geared toward those with more weight to lose. Thankfully, she took the plunge with Stronger U, and now, in her own words, she says, “Today, I live empowered.”
Trudy’s path to Stronger U began with a common struggle we can all relate to – those pesky last 10 pounds. Her relationship with food was tumultuous, marked by a vicious cycle of “all or nothing” mentality and weekend indulgences that left her in a never-ending spiral. Exercise was her constant companion, her “knight in shining armor,” as she would say. Yet despite her tremendous efforts, the scale refused to budge.
Fast forward to Stronger U, and Trudy’s life has been transformed. She now understands the intricate connection between nutrition and exercise. Gone are the days of guilt-ridden food choices. Instead, Trudy enjoys her favorite foods in moderation. She’s discovered how to navigate her weaknesses and set her own nutritional boundaries. Her exercise regimen is now focused on strength training, with a healthy dose of cardio and step counting. But most importantly, she’s gained a newfound confidence that radiates in all aspects of her life.
In Trudy’s words, “Seeing results is a great motivator.” By consistently tracking her progress, she learned to focus on her overall journey, breaking away from the “all or nothing” mindset and freeing herself from the idea of “good” and “bad” foods. Trudy has been able to achieve remarkable results, shedding 15 pounds and 2 inches off her waist while continuing to get stronger every day.
However, Trudy’s journey isn’t just about the numbers. It’s about trusting the process. She’s focused on building muscle and is proud of the changes she sees in her check-in photos rather than the number she sees on the scale. Most importantly, she now enjoys an active and healthy lifestyle, allowing her to savor precious moments with her family, running and playing with her grandchildren.
Trudy’s journey from struggling with food and exercise to living a life empowered by balanced nutrition and fitness is truly remarkable. Oh, Trudyyyy! What can I say about this beautiful woman? She loves life and all the people in it. She has this amazing way to find something beautiful and positive in all scenarios. She’s just like most of us in that she works hard, she’s a mom, a grandmother, a wife, a sister, friend, etc. She has a lot to manage and lots of life stressors, yet she still finds time for herself. Time to eat well and exercise- because it’s important to her. This journey ebbs and flows, sometimes she’s extra diligent and more focused on specific goals, other times, she coasts through, eating well and just navigating all that life has to offer her.
I have loved every moment and every phase of this journey with you, Trudy!! You are a strong and beautiful human and a blessing to all those around you. I’m so lucky to get to be your coach.
