One of the things we’ve wanted to do for a long time is to find a way to shine a spotlight on our members each week. We want to celebrate their hard work, tell their story, and continually make sure that it’s evident that this truly is a business built by and for the members. So really, this is another way that we’re trying to give back to our community.

Sure, you could say that our Instagram transformations we show off each and every day do that. And to a degree that’s right. But we wanted to do more. To share more. To pull back the curtain a little bit.

Which is why we’re happy to introduce our Member Spotlight series. Each and every Thursday we’ll be highlighting a new member on the blog. We’ll share their story, their awesome pictures, and get some insight from them into seeing how they personally made Stronger U work for them.

So enough from me. Let’s get to our very first member.

What’s your name?

Sean Wilner.

Tell us a little about you in 5 sentences or less. Where are you from? Are you a parent? What are your hobbies? Anything unique about your life that you want to share?

“I’m from Baltimore, Maryland. I am a parent of an energetic 19-month-old. I CrossFit, family time, and definitely video games.”

What led you to join Stronger U?

“I had tried almost every diet out there, paleo, whole 30 , etc. and decided to give this one a try. Life changing.”

What dieting experience have you had previous to Stronger U? Was there a reason you were or were not successful? Why did you stop?

“I’ve done paleo, and whole 30. I stopped because it was not sustainable, and just not realistic for my lifestyle. And I didn’t want that change I think.”

It’s clear Stronger U worked for you. Why do you think Stronger U worked so well when other programs or diets may have not?

“I think because you can still fit in the treats every now and again. There is a lot less binging. I feel like the amount of food and the really the group of people who are doing this along with you are a major factor.”

Can you give some insight into your eating habits BEFORE joining Stronger U?

“Before SU I had 3-4 energy drinks a day, Chipotle or Qdoba burrito 4 times a week. Eating out was a big part of my life.”

Now that you’ve joined Stronger U, how have your eating habits changed?

“I eat a lot cleaner. More veggies and fewer snacks. And I rarely eat out. If I do it’s easily tracked. Also, I do still fit some of those foods I had before but way more moderation- like 1 time every 3 month for a burrito. Overall just changed my whole eating style.”

If you exercise or train for a sport, what does a typical week look like? Did Stronger U have any impact on your decision to start exercising or training for a sport?

“I do CrossFit 3-4 times a week. It had an impact on helping me actually be consistent and not injured as much. Way faster, stronger, etc.”

Has your change in body weight or composition improved other areas of your life? If so, explain what areas and how.

“I have so much more confidence now. It’s insane. I just think I can do anything I set my mind to. I also am a lot more diligent and less of a procrastinator.”

Are there any tips or advice you’d give to new members of Stronger U to help them succeed early on?

“Definitely eat your veggies – and stick to single macro foods – read the damn guide!”

If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what would you tell them?

“If you think the price is too much, you are absolutely wrong. The amount of money you will save by changing your habits – will actually make you money even after covering the cost of a 12-week session. Also, do it. It’s most definitely life changing.”
