Stronger U Member Transformation

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am 55 years old, and live in Louisville,Kentucky. I have been married to my wife, Melissa for 31 years. We have two grown sons, and our dog Willow. I am a general manager for a large casual dining restaurant.

What did you life look like before Stronger U?

This is my second stint with Stronger U. I did well keeping my weight off after my first time, until I injured my shoulder and had to have a shoulder replacement.. Suddenly I wasn’t very active, and my eating habits also took a turn for the worse-lots of eating out, junk food…. Previous to Stronger U I had tried low carb diets and intermittent fasting. Nothing that I could do for the long term. I had little energy, and zero self confidence.

What does your life look like now?

I now see my meals as fueling my body for the things I want to do. My activity level is way up. I now find myself getting up early on my days off so I can go to my favorite park and get some running or biking in before it gets too hot. I feel amazing-lots of energy and so much more confidence.

Why do you think Stronger U worked so well for you compared to other programs or diets?

No deprivation. No eliminating categories of foods. Overall kept me feeling satisfied. I love to plan so that ability to plan my meals a day ahead and just follow that plan was great for me.

What was something you regularly ate while on Stronger U that people wouldn’t expect you to eat on a diet?

I make the Stronger U sloppy joe recipe every single week. I would reheat it at work and so many people commented on how good it smelled.

How much weight did you lose with Stronger U?


How many inches did you lose off your waist?


Did you have any favorite non-scale victories to share?

So much more confidence. Went running without a shirt during a heat wave last week. Previously I would never take my shirt off-even at the pool.

Has Stronger U improved your overall health? If so, how? 

I was on 3 blood pressure medications-and still had difficulty keeping my numbers in check. Now I am off all of them and my numbers have been excellent. I’m also sleeping much better.

If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what advice would you give them before beginning their journey? 

Trust the process. If you follow your coach’s plan, you will see results.
