Andrea’s Stronger U Story

Kenzie Faris

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I’m a wife, mom of two, software engineer, and marathon runner.

What did your life look like before Stronger U?

I thought my eating habits were mostly good. I ate plenty of vegetables and didn’t eat a lot of processed or hardly any fast food. I knew a couple of areas where I could improve, but I didn’t think that was going to get me back in shape.

What does your life look like now?

I’m still able to eat most of the things I did before but some in moderation. I’m so much more active again between running, Peloton, hiking, and some strength training. And, I’m much happier because I can do the things I enjoy again.

Where did you hear about Stronger U?

I heard about StrongerU on a couple of different Facebook groups.

Why do you think Stronger U worked so well for you compared to other programs or diets?

There wasn’t an expectation to be perfect. It was much more important to make progress than hit macros perfectly. And, if I took a holiday off from tracking I just got right back on track the next day. There was no guilt. So many other programs expect perfection.

What was something you regularly ate while on Stronger U that people wouldn’t expect you to eat on a diet?

Chocolate. I pretty regularly have a piece of dark chocolate. I also normally end my day with a Yasso bar.

Did Stronger U have any impact on your training?

Yes! Stronger U allowed me to get back to long-distance running! And, my speed and endurance have definitely improved!

How much weight did you lose with Stronger U?

About 70 pounds

How many inches did you lose off your waist?

10 inches

Did you have any favorite non-scale victories to share?

Fitting in my wedding dress again on my anniversary!

Has Stronger U improved your overall quality of life?

Yes, I have a lot more energy for my family and am much happier.

If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what advice would you give them before beginning their journey?

Just do your best. Don’t worry about being perfect.

Would you like to give a shoutout to your coach, SU staff member, or community member?

I wouldn’t have made it this far without my coach. I’m my own biggest critic, and Lauren was great at helping me see the progress I was continuing to make when I couldn’t see it. And, Mike Doehla always seems to post things on the Facebook group at just the right time.
