For three years, Michelle set the same New Year’s resolution: lose 30 pounds by her July birthday. But instead of watching the scale drop each year, she saw it creeping in the opposite direction. “Each birthday would roll around with no change,” she admits, reflecting on the all-too-familiar cycle many of us experience.
Then, as luck (or perhaps fate!) would have it, she noticed several of her coworkers’ successful weight loss and asked them how they’d done it. Every single one of them credited Stronger U! Inspired by their achievements, Michelle joined our program and committed to finally making her long-time resolution a reality with Coach Jamie’s guidance.
Over time, Michelle learned to understand and work through her triggers and gained the tools to make slow but intentional progress. She found balance by planning her meals ahead of time, especially when it came to dinners out with her family. “I have developed new habits surrounding food and nutrition since joining Stronger U. Habits created through tracking, weighing, and researching food. I eat more nutritiously now than before,” she shares.
Yes, she’s experienced ups and downs, but Michelle has stayed the course with Coach Jamie by her side, reminding her that each day is a fresh start. She’s not only finally achieved her weight loss goal, but she’s doubled it! Michelle is now 60 pounds lighter and a whole lot stronger, too! She went from struggling with a 10-minute arm session with two-to-three-pound weights to confidently handling 20-minute sessions with weights up to 10 pounds! But her wins don’t stop there; she now walks three to four times per week without knee or hip pain, has cut her blood pressure medication by half, and, according to her husband, no longer snores at night.
Before Stronger U, Michelle believed age and menopause were roadblocks to a healthier life. Today, she’s reframed her mindset and traded too-tight size 14 pants for a loose size 8. When asked what she would tell someone considering Stronger U, she says: “Just do it! You are worth it.” And we couldn’t agree more. Witnessing members like Michelle find their health, confidence, and happiness is why our coaches are passionate about what they do; the Stronger U approach is powerful and sustainable.

Michelle and I started working together in the summer of 2021, and I’ve LOVED getting to know her! She is an amazing nurse, wife, mother and loves spending time with her grandkids! She came to Stronger U wanting to lose weight and work on emotional eating, and she’s done exactly that through travel, celebrations, holidays, and summertime fun. There were times when she didn’t track and times when she tracked over the targets, but no matter what, she always came back to the goals she set for herself. Now, we’re working toward maintenance, and I have no doubt she can be wildly successful here. Way to go, Michelle!
