Tell us a little bit about yourself!:

I’m a 49-year-old working mom of two not so little any more boys. I’ve worked for my current employer for 25 years. I completed my first sprint triathlon when I was 40 and did a few more over the years. I joined lifetime fitness a few years ago and for a while did workouts on my own and then with a trainer at the gym. I’d see the scale fluctuate a few pounds here and there but I didn’t really see the muscle gain I wanted. In April of 2022, I started taking classes at the gym, and I haven’t looked back.

What did your life look like before Stronger U?:

I would eat little protein and low carbs however was not eating enough. I’ve tried weight watchers and eating low carbs. My activity level was working out a few days a week when I felt like it but nothing consistent.

What does your life look like now?:

My relationship with food and eating has completely changed. I now eat a lot more than I ever have, keeping protein, fiber, water, and movement top of mind. I’ve been working out 5-6 days a week and make it a priority to do so. I feel really good. I feel healthy and energetic. Stronger U taught me the right things to eat and within reason. I didn’t have to give up eating anything. I learned the correct size portions and made sure protein was the primary food.

Why do you think Stronger U worked so well for you compared to other programs or diets?:

It teaches you the basics of eating and the importance of macros. Stronger U provides a social media network of people to ask questions about best practices or suggestions for food to eat, brands to buy, and recipes. Your coach is there to guide you on how to weigh food and to ensure you’re meeting your macros and adjusting as needed.

What was something you regularly ate while on Stronger U that people wouldn’t expect you to eat on a diet?:

Dessert! I usually make it with nonfat Greek yogurt and protein powder. Delicious!!

How much weight did you lose with Stronger U?:

18

How many inches did you lose off your waist?:

2

Did you have any favorite non-scale victories to share?:

I put on muscle and can see areas of muscle definition.

If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what advice would you give them before beginning their journey?:

Don’t give up or get overwhelmed with weighing food or portion sizes. Stick with it, ask your coach for advice, and pre-plan meals especially if you eat out a lot.

Is there anything else you would like to add about your journey?:

Michelle Waranoski is a great coach. She provided great advice on tracking macros, weighing food, and tips to remain active. She is passionate about what she does and truly cares about you and your progress.
