Fit for the Slopes: How Stronger U Helps Justin Thrive in His Active Lifestyle

When Justin took a chance on Stronger U, his goal was to get in shape for snowboarding season. Pretty straightforward, right? But what began as a desire to improve his fitness for one of his favorite pastimes became a full-fledged lifestyle overhaul. It all started with a relatable realization that spurred him into signing up for our program. “You know how there’s that cartoon of an overweight person trying to put on pants, and the button flies off? Yeah, that was the kick in the butt that I needed,” he jokes. 

Though Justin had already begun making small changes independently, Stronger U provided the structure and accountability he needed to push further. So, he reached out to Coach Jeannie, who had been recommended by his wife, and then, after initial hesitation, jumped in with both feet. 

At first, Justin faced common challenges such as balancing family life, work, and social events while staying committed to fitness and nutrition goals. Justin credits his success to his coach, Jeannie, and his wife. “It was really easy to stay on course when I was doing the program with my wife,” Justin shares. “Shoutout to [her] for helping me navigate the ins and outs and holding me accountable.” 

He also leaned on the Stronger U community for general questions and support. “The fact that everyone has the same goal was really great to see,” he says. This sense of community and shared purpose helped him stay focused during moments of temptation or doubt. 

In total, Justin lost 12 pounds and 3 inches off his waist. He also stopped drinking for six months and completed multiple Peloton workout programs, committing to at least five weekly workouts. These achievements gave him confidence and motivation, and significantly impacted his overall well-being. As time progressed, Justin noticed that his health and fitness mindset shifted. “I’ve been more conscious about what I’m eating and specifically when I’m eating. The earlier, the better when it comes to dinner,” he reflects. He also found himself less inclined to binge eat after getting home from work, something that had been a challenge in the past. 

With a renewed sense of discipline, support from his coach and wife, and a newfound understanding of nutrition, Justin has not only prepared himself physically for snowboarding season but has also embraced a sustainable, healthier lifestyle. 

And if you’re someone who is on the fence about joining Stronger U, like Justin initially was, he quotes Nike’s legendary motto: “Just do it.”
