Vinny’s Stronger U Story
My name is Vinny LaRosa and I’ve been working with Coach Syndi Acampora. I live in Wood-Ridge, NJ. I’m married with 3 children. Two boys and one girl. I’m a police officer in my 22nd year on the job.
In my spare time (if you call it that, haha) I coach my kids in their sports. Baseball, basketball, and soccer. To me, there is nothing better than watching my kid play and be successful at it.
Life before Stronger U
I ate whatever I wanted. Never prepped or tracked. Ordered out more often. I would try and eat healthy but the portion size was and is always my issue. I’d tried every single diet out there, then one day saw myself in the mirror and didn’t like what I saw. That’s when I made the change.
So what does your life look like now?
My clothes fit so much better than they used to. I get compliments from all kinds of people, and I have more willpower than ever. I eat what I want, like pizza. I prep daily for work but on the weekends it’s more of a figure it out on the fly. That’s okay. I now know that’s what works for me.
I’m down 53lbs and around 8-10 inches off my waist. I’m better at my job, have more energy to play with my kids, and just feel better overall. It’s like I’ve got a new lease on life. I think I was pretty motivated when I started this, but having Syndi there to check in with and keep me accountable did make all the difference.

What are 3 tips, based on your experience, that you’d give to new members of Stronger U to help them see success early on?
- Meal prep
- Stay patient. This isn’t supposed to happen overnight.
- Trust your coach and the process. Ask your coach questions and involve them in your process. The more you do, the better you’ll do at the program.
