Tell us a little bit about yourself!
44 years old; work in management full time; full time MBA student; formerly from Michigan and now living in Tennessee with my husband and my rescue dog, Popeye.
What did your life look like before Stronger U?
I worked out regularly and ate relatively healthy most of the time but also drank and overindulged on the weekends. I didn’t understand macros and didn’t have a balanced diet. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t losing weight, working out 5-7 days a week and not eating fast food or junk food.
What does your life look like now?
Still active, but do a lot more walking, bicycling and hiking. I focus on workouts that I enjoy rather than as a punishment. I take rest days and have been injury free! My husband and I still enjoy eating out, I just plan for it now. I gave up drinking for dry January last year and lost the desire for it. I don’t miss it and feel so much better!
Where did you hear about Stronger U?
Through my Michigan friend.
Why do you think Stronger U worked so well for you compared to other programs or diets?
I am most successful when I feel like I can plan and have structure. Being given limits and having the freedom to eat whatever I want within those limits allowed me to live life without sacrificing food I enjoy.
What was something you regularly ate while on Stronger U that people wouldn’t expect you to eat on a diet?
Pizza, tacos, ice cream, dessert every day!
How much weight did you lose with Stronger U?
How many inches did you lose off your waist?
Did you have any favorite non-scale victories to share?
Looking more like how I always felt – I knew I could be athletic but never felt like I looked like it.
Has Stronger U improved your overall quality of life?
100% – I hated my job and where I lived. I felt stuck before Stronger U. Controlling my health helped me to put myself first – it gave me the confidence to make a move in my career and get out of an unhealthy environment.
If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what advice would you give them before beginning their journey?
Don’t wait, don’t make excuses. Just commit to it and do it – it can change your life!
Would you like to give a shoutout to your coach, SU staff member, or community member?
Gianna Masi, Tanner Baze, DeeDee Ballesteros – thank you! To my personal friends who are SU members – Sherry Adineh, Elizabeth Hudeck, Kelly Wolf, Brandy Dimmitt, Jenny Taylor, Tonia Louchart – thank you for trusting me and supporting me!
