Guys, I want to talk to you about something very important and a huge part of what this program is about. Going off plan on purpose.
There is a time and place to go off plan on purpose and yesterday was that day for me. I see a lot of people saying no to things and missing out on life. Sometimes it’s birthday cake at your kid’s party. Other times it’s a night out on your anniversary and you choose the chicken. Your goals are awesome but your living life is more awesome.
You may have a sense of guilt like you can’t be off plan and I want to tell you it is ok to be off sometimes. I want you to let loose when it makes sense to let loose. As long as these things aren’t all the time, like every day or every weekend, you will be ok. You do have to do what’s best for you most of the time but you cannot let the people around you always miss out because you think perfection is needed. It’s not. Persistence is what’s needed.
Yesterday I chose to be off. It was my idea to get ice cream at Crista’s favorite spot. A place I said no to about 20 times in a row and suggested Halo Top instead. It was always good enough but it was never what she wanted and it’s definitely not the same as real ice cream.
The 500 extra calories I ate yesterday were worth putting a smile on her face. She was so happy she even Instagrammed it and she doesn’t even care about social media.
I am inviting you all to do the same for someone close to you WHEN IT’S WORTH IT. I don’t know if that’s your kid, your husband/wife, or your grandma but there will be a time when it will be worth it. Do not miss it.
