Tell us a little bit about yourself

I am a wife, mom of 3, and a business owner (boutique wedding cakery).  Sweets are all always around! 

 

What did your life look like before Stronger U?

I thought my habits were pretty good…worked out a ton, but had no idea what I was really eating or how much.  Tried paleo, keto, no sugar, no dairy, and ate ALL the fat (and still didn’t have great results).  During the pandemic, I let all of that go and just ate what I wanted.

 

Every year in January I did the whole 30 dry January thing, but that did not give me what I was looking for either.  

 

What does your life look like now? 

I feel so much stronger.  I don’t kill myself in my workouts anymore, because I don’t need to.  Stopped drinking during the week (was making too many fun cocktails during the pandemic…also, jumped on the sourdough bandwagon 😉

 

!  I am enjoying my simple breakfasts and lunches. I tend to fuss a little more for dinner since I like to eat different things and food makes me happy.

Why do you think Stronger U worked so well for you compared to other programs or diets?

It was very defined.  I liked having numbers.  At first I was scared of measuring everything.  It felt completely overwhelming and I could not figure out how it would work.  After one week and a few pounds lost, I was completely convinced.  I never felt hungry and I knew that it was sustainable.  It has been a few weeks since I was with my coach and I can stick to my numbers easily.

 

What was something you regularly ate while on Stronger U that people wouldn’t expect you to eat on a diet?

Bread.  When I couldn’t hit my carb numbers, Mira would tell me “eat a piece of bread, girl!”  I cannot believe how I demonized bread.  During the pandemic, I had no idea what I was eating…it wasn’t the bread that was bad, or the cheese, or the wine…it was too much of everything, and not even having any clue as to how much of it I was eating.  

 

How much weight did you lose with Stronger U? 

I think I am clocked in about 15 pounds.

 

Did you have any favorite non-scale victories to share?

I wore my daughter’s homecoming outfit for my 21st anniversary.  

 

Has Stronger U improved your overall quality of life? If so, how? 

Better relationship with food, not out of breath, shopping is more fun.  I can keep up with my kids.  We are going on a hiking trip this summer and I am excited to be able to enjoy every moment of the trip.

 

If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what advice would you give them before beginning their journey?

It is overwhelming at first but trust the process.  Yes, you may even feel too full at times…but again trust the process.  Your coach WANTS to help you and is not here to judge you. Be honest with yourself and your reporting.  It works if you follow the process.

 

Would you like to give a shoutout to your coach, SU staff member, or community member?

I love Mira! She was a great coach and I still keep some of her little nuggets of information in my head.  This one is my favorite “have fun, but don’t drink like an asshole”
