90 Pounds Down: Liz’s Powerful Combination of Stronger U, Orangetheory, and GLP-1 Medication

Weight loss isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey, despite what the plethora of ‘quick fixes’ want us to believe. Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight can require a unique combination of tools tailored to individual needs. In Liz’s case, the powerful mix of Stronger U’s personalized nutrition coaching, Orangetheory workouts, and GLP-1 medication helped her overcome a lifetime of weight struggles.  

When Liz first joined Stronger U, she had already faced years of frustration with diets that failed to deliver lasting results. She felt stuck in a cycle of temporary success followed by inevitable setbacks. It was a tough spot, but Liz wasn’t ready to give up. The stress of law school had taken a toll on her eating habits, and a heart condition in 2018 added a sense of urgency to her health goals.  Determined to prioritize her physical health, Liz sought out a program that offered long-term support—and Stronger U became that solution (and more!) 

Through the nutritional guidance and accountability provided by her Stronger U Coaches Syndi and Julie, Liz lost 40 pounds! Then, in early 2024, she began GLP-1 medication prescribed by her cardiologist alongside her nutrition coaching and fitness routine. With the expertise of Coach Julie, Liz learned to adapt her eating habits to ensure she was fueling her body with the right nutrients, particularly fats and proteins, which became crucial for her progress on the medication.  

Beyond the scale, Liz found a new passion for running at Orangetheory Fitness (shoutout to OTF Albany!), consistently setting personal records and improving her strength. Her cardiologist noted health improvements, boosting her commitment to her new lifestyle. Liz’s transformation has reshaped her relationship with food, fitness, and herself, integrating her health into every aspect of her life for overall well-being. She now feels more confident, energized, and productive.

And, while she’s faced numerous challenges, the unwavering support of her coach and her family — especially her mom, who became her biggest cheerleader—has been crucial to helping Liz overcome these hurdles with resilience. She learned the importance of planning her meals and for events where food might have previously been a temptation. Stronger U’s structure gave her the tools to not just survive these situations but to thrive in them.
