The Stronger U Member Spotlight: Gizmo

This week our Stronger U Member Spotlight is shining brightly on one very famous Stronger U Member: Gizmo.

What’s your name? (First and last names, pretty please)

Cat, Gizmo, or Mikes worst nightmare.

Tell us a little about you in 5 sentences or less. Where are you from? Are you a parent? What are your hobbies? Anything unique about your life that you want to share?

I’m not too sure where I’m from but I’m 6 years old. I don’t have kids (mom fixed me) and I love chasing bugs, leaving surprises for Mike, and doing Cat things like sleeping and being moody.

What led you to join Stronger U?

I was forced into it. My mom started dating the guy that started it and she felt it would help me reach my goals. I was hesitant at first but it turned out awesome.

What dieting experience have you had previous to Stronger U? Was there a reason you were or were not successful? Why did you stop?

I’ve tried it all. From Purina, Fancy Feast, and Kibble and Bits. They were all too boring and I always wanted something else. I’d say I was looking for the purrrfect diet and that’s what Stronger U is.

It’s clear Stronger U worked for you. Why do you think Stronger U worked so well when other programs or diets may have not?

As much as I joke about Mike, he just makes eating more simple and educational. I didn’t know what I was doing before and now I’m eating broccoli. Did you ever meet a cat that eats vegetables? SU is really just all the parts of dieting that work and none of the parts that don’t.

Can you give some insight on your eating habits BEFORE joining Stronger U?

A little of this a little of that. I would usually stick to my main meals but I would sample a lot. Canned sweet potatoes, yogurt, turkey meat, and the occasional Mike Nugget were all my favorites. They’re all good quality foods but the bites licks and tastes added up.

Now that you’ve joined Stronger U, how have your eating habits changed?

Consistent, simple, and more fun. I realized I can enjoy a bit since I’m usually on target. I also don’t have much of a choice since cats aren’t allowed in grocery stores.

If you exercise or train for a sport, what does a typical week look like? Did Stronger U have any impact in your decision to start exercising or training for a sport?

It’s not technically a sport but if chasing Mike’s feet was a sport I would be Lebron James. A typical week goes like this. Every time he walks by, I attack. Practice makes perfect, right?

Has your change in body weight or composition improved other areas of your life? If so, explain what areas and how.

Weight is around the same but I’m much more athletic. Since moving I’ve been able to run a little more and explore. This makes it extra nice since Mike usually doesn’t know where I am and can’t annoy me.

Are there any tips or advice you’d give to new members of Stronger U to help them succeed early on?

Keep your meals simple. Plan ahead. enjoy the times worth enjoying. Not every meal has to be a celebration.

If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what would you tell them?

What are you waiting for? Seriously. I think I overheard this in an episode of The Office but Jan told Pam “There are always a million reasons not to do something”. That stuck with me. If we want to do something, we will. If we don’t, we’ll make up a reason why we aren’t.
