The Stronger U Member Spotlight: Caitlin Mundry

This week our Stronger U Member Spotlight is shining down on Caitlin Mundry, who worked with Coach Josh Citron.

What’s your name? (First and last names, pretty please)

Caitlin Mundry

Tell us a little about you in 5 sentences or less. Where are you from? Are you a parent? What are your hobbies? Anything unique about your life that you want to share?

I am from Methuen Massachusetts and work in healthcare administration. I am a dog mom to two cockapoos. I spend my time with my family and my fit family as a coach at CrossFit North Andover.

What led you to join Stronger U?

Realizing that you can not outwork a bad diet. Deciding it was time to get healthy so I would be around a long time to see my nephew and niece grow up.

What dieting experience have you had previous to Stronger U? Was there a reason you were or were not successful? Why did you stop?

I tried everything! I was never successful because I was either under eating, eating the wrong things, or not holding myself accountable. I could not find the balance of life and diet. Stronger U did this for me, they helped me find a balance of life and improvement in fitness.

It’s clear Stronger U worked for you. Why do you think Stronger U worked so well when other programs or diets may have not?

Accountability, community, and simplicity. My coach and other members to hold me accountable. The community for ideas and inspiration, and the simplicity of the program as a lifestyle change, not a diet. It did not limit my possibilities and I never felt like I was in a negative situation like other plans have!

Can you give some insight on your eating habits BEFORE joining Stronger U?

I was amazed when I did my practice days just how much I was overeating. I would count what I thought was a serving but once I weighed it measured it was really x3 servings! Overeating, overdrinking, and way too many snacks! I was also rewarding good workouts with more food than I had just burned.

Now that you’ve joined Stronger U, how have your eating habits changed?

I am much more conscious about what fule I need for my body to operate at peak performance. I also have a better relationship with food that I do not turn to food for comfort.

If you exercise or train for a sport, what does a typical week look like? Did Stronger U have any impact in your decision to start exercising or training for a sport?

I can be found at CrossFit North Andover all week long working out or coaching. My sport influenced my Stronger U experience because I wanted to improve and be an example to others in our community.

How much weight did you lose with Stronger U?

62lbs and more to go!

How did your waist measurements change with Stronger U?

15 inches from my waist. 18 inches from my bust. And 12 from my neck!

What were 3 major non-scale victories you experienced with Stronger U?

Sitting on an airplane and not worrying about the seatbelt. Getting gymnastic move in CrossFit. Running my first 5k.

Has your change in body weight or composition improved other areas of your life? If so, explain what areas and how.

My confidence has greatly improved because I finally feel like I can do anything I put my mind to. This has especially been the case at work. Who knew that a lifestyle change and some more muscle would give me the boost I needed to get that big promotion.

Are there any tips or advice you’d give to new members of Stronger U to help them succeed early on?

Have support and accountability. Find it in the Stronger U group, at your gym, in your home/friends. Those who support you will not bring the bad habits back out.

If someone is thinking about joining Stronger U, what would you tell them?

Make the investment in yourself, no one else is going to do it. There will be challenges, triumphs, and some bad days but you will succeed.
